The Nordic countries, as many other EU countries, are entering a period of major investments in new Healthcare Architecture. The reason for this is rapid and dramatic changes in the health care system according to a profound focus on patient centred care and organisational development towards open clinic structures instead of inpatient hospital care, which in turn claims a strong support from an adapted physical environment.

Sammantaget kom grupperna fram till att det vore lämpligt om utbildare inom ljus och belysning träffades en gång om året för att utbyta erfarenheter vid en utbildningsdag, och utbildningsdagen Framtidens ljus  2011 kan vara första steget i en sådan process.

Second international conference on the effects of light on wellbeing

12-13 November 2012, Eindhoven, The Netherlands

EXPERIENCING LIGHT 2012 is an international two-day scientific conference that will bring together recent insights into the effects of light and light design on human wellbeing with the aim to provide a state of the art overview of how light influences mood, emotions, behaviour, subjective and objective health, comfort, atmosphere perception, productivity and performance.  Academics and practitioners with an interest in research, theory, technologies, design, and applications related to the psychological effects of lighting are invited to submit their work for presentation.

The conference coincides with the Glow festival in Eindhoven. During the Glow Forum of Light and Architecture, artists and designers take control of the city centre and turn it into their décor and podium. Attracting over 300.000 visitors, the Glow festival is be the perfect backdrop for experiencing art, science, and light!

Nytt ljus är ett forum för människor som arbetar med väg- eller gatubelysning där man kan finna information om ny teknik, se film på intressanta projekt samt få reda på aktuella nya verktyg som kan underlätta i arbetet att finna energisparande åtgärder för väg- och gatubelysning. 

Hemsidan vänder sig således till dem som  har väg- och gatubelysning eller illumination av allmänna platser som yrke eller intresse, med fokus på att sprida upplysning om vad som händer inom energieffektivisering av den allmänna belysningen utomhus i Sverige och Europa. The EU has set itself ambitious targets to achieve clean and secure energy for tomorrow. An optimal use of available tools is necessary to meet these targets. A wide range of technologies and methods exist to improve energy efficiency, turn renewables into viable energy sources and reduce emissions. However, market conditions prevent them from reaching their full potential. This is where the Intelligent Energy – Europe programme comes in.

The Intelligent Energy – Europe (IEE) programme is giving a boost to clean and sustainable solutions. It supports their use and dissemination and the Europe-wide exchange of related knowledge and know-how.

Targeted funding is provided for creative projects putting this idea into practice

The projects help to further the three main objectives:

• Promoting energy efficiency and encouraging the rational use of energy sources;
• Increasing the use of new and renewable energy sources as well as encouraging energy diversification;
• Stimulating energy efficiency and renewables in the field of transport.

Ljuskultur anordnar kortseminarier om LED på den kommande Stockholm Furnitur Fair. Seminarierna är inriktade till arkitketer och inredare och hålls både på onsdag, torsdag och fredag under mässan.

Föreläsningsintro: Utvecklingen av nya ljuskällor går snabbt. Hur påverkar detta belysningsplaneringen? Spelar de nya ljuskällorna roll för ljusets icke-visuella påverkan? Detta är några av de frågor som vi måste ställa oss när LED mer och mer kommer att ta över som ljuskälla i både vår arbetsmiljö och i den offentliga miljön. European Research Council (ERC) grants support individual researchers of any nationality and age who wish to pursue their frontier research. In particularly, the ERC encourages proposals that cross disciplinary boundaries, pioneering ideas that address new and emerging fields and applications that introduce unconventional, innovative approaches.

ERC Synergy Grants  

The ERC Synergy Grants will enable small groups of 2-4 Principal Investigators (with a designated Lead Principal Investigator) and their teams to bring together complementary skills, knowledge, and resources, in order to jointly address research problems at the frontier of knowledge going beyond what the individual Principal Investigators could achieve alone. Depending on the nature of a project the group may involve Principal Investigators and team members from other research organizations situated in the same or a different country.

• ERC Synergy grants may be up to € 15 000 000 for a period of six years
• With the focus on the Principal Investigators, the concepts of the individual team or ERC Synergy Group are fundamentally different from that of a network or consortium of undertakings, universities, research centres or other legal entities. Proposals of the latter type should not be submitted to the ERC
• Host Institution must be established in an EU Member State or Associated country
• A grant from ERC will cover eligible direct cost to 100% . The contribution to indirect will be calculated as 20% of the direct costs.

ERC Advanced Grant

The ERC Advanced Investigator Grants encourage substantial advances at the frontier of knowledge by supporting excellent, leading advanced investigators to pursue ground breaking, high-risk/high gain research.

• Pioneering frontier research in any field of science, engineering and scholarship
• Principal Investigator candidates can be of any nationality, must be scientifically independent and have a recent research track-record and profile which identifies them as leaders in their respective field(s) of research
• Host organisation must be established in an EU Member State or an Associated Country
• Funding normally up to € 2.5 M per grant (in certain cases up to € 3.5 M ) for a period of up to 5 years
• A grant from ERC will cover eligible direct cost to 100% . The contribution to indirect will be calculated as 20% of the direct costs.
